I’m Rick, better known as DJ Klasick. The nickname comes from my love of the classics. Those timeless songs that make everyone jump up, sing along, and dance like nobody’s watching. Music has always been my thing. As a kid, I was that person who couldn’t resist controlling the speakers at every family party, trying to get just the right song to keep everyone moving. Growing up surrounded by everything from Motown and Old School to Classic Rock, R&B, and Hip Hop, my taste quickly became a blend of all the sounds that make people feel good.
Raise The Roof DJs began with one simple family party that changed everything.
It was the spring of 2004, and my cousin had just graduated from high school. My Aunt Rosa was planning a big celebration and initially wanted to hire a DJ, but when my cousin asked for a digital camera instead, she decided to cancel the DJ. She then proceeded to call me with a simple request.
Could I play music for my cousin’s graduation party?
At the time, I didn’t own a single piece of DJ gear. No controller, no lighting, just a huge passion for music and a growing music collection. (Streaming wasn’t even a thing yet. The first iPhone wouldn’t come out for another three years!)
I hesitated at first. But after thinking it over, I decided to give it a shot. I saved up to buy some basic speakers and a microphone. I spent nights learning the ropes, experimenting with mixing, learning how to transition songs, and figuring out what every button and knob did.
When the big night came, I set up my small system in the backyard, hit play, and watched as my family started dancing, laughing, and celebrating together. The sound quality wasn’t perfect, and my transitions were far from professional, but seeing how much joy the music brought to everyone lit a fire in me. That night, I knew this was what I wanted to do.
From that one backyard party, I immediately became a student of the DJ community. What started as a side hustle quickly grew into a full-time passion.
Over the years, Raise The Roof DJs has evolved into a talented team of entertainers, all dedicated to bringing great music, energy, and professionalism to every event. We’ve had the honor of performing at stunning venues across Southern California, from intimate backyard weddings to luxury hotel ballrooms.
DJ Tony – Known for his smooth transitions and ability to read any crowd, Tony keeps the dance floor packed all night. Specializing in Hip-Hop, Old School/Funk, and Spanish hits!
DJ Arthur (aka Art) – Our creative DJ with an ear for blending genres. He’s got an incredible ability to turn any playlist into a story. Specializing in Top 40, Afrobeats, Hip-Hop, Oldschool, and everything in between!
DJ Emilio – The life of the party with flawless timing and a love for getting everyone involved on the dance floor. Specializing in Top 40, Hip-Hop, Spanish hits, and more!
Sonia & Ronnie – Our Photo Booth pros, always bringing fun energy and helping guests capture memories that last long after the event ends!
Desirey – Our Administrative Coordinator, keeping everything organized behind the scenes, from client communication to logistics, she makes sure every event runs smoothly!
