Our Origin Story
I'm Rick, better known as DJ Klasick. The nickname comes from my love of the classics: those timeless songs that make everyone jump up, sing along, and dance like nobody's watching. Growing up surrounded by everything from Motown and Old School to Classic Rock, R&B, and Hip Hop, my taste became a blend of all the sounds that make people feel good.
"She called me with a simple request. Could I play music for my cousin's graduation party?"
It was spring 2004. My Aunt Rosa was planning a graduation celebration and asked if I could handle the music. At the time, I didn't own a single piece of DJ gear. No controller, no lighting, just a huge passion for music and a growing collection. I saved up for some basic speakers and a microphone, spent nights learning the ropes, and showed up ready to give it everything I had.
The transitions weren't perfect. The sound quality wasn't studio-grade. But watching my family dance, laugh, and celebrate lit a fire in me that never went out.
From One Party to Hundreds
What started in a backyard quickly grew into something bigger. Over the years, Raise The Roof DJs evolved from a solo operation into a full team of entertainers, all dedicated to bringing great music, energy, and professionalism to every event.
We've had the honor of performing at stunning venues across Southern California, from intimate backyard weddings to luxury hotel ballrooms. Every event teaches us something new and pushes us to keep getting better.
